StudioScore is a free app made by one person. It reads public information about Steam games and shows you what it makes of it. These terms say what you can expect from it, and what it expects from you.
What the app is
StudioScore shows how often games get updated, how their studios are doing, and which discounts are running. It is not a game store. It sells nothing, holds no payment details, and every purchase happens on Steam under Valve's own terms.
It is an independent project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Valve Corporation.
Using it
You need a Steam account to sign in. You are responsible for keeping that account secure. StudioScore never sees your Steam password.
Please do not:
- hammer the app's servers with automated requests, or try to pull the whole dataset out of them;
- attempt to break into other people's accounts or into the service;
- republish the app's analysis as if it were your own, or as if it came from Valve.
Accounts that do these things can be closed without notice.
About the numbers
Everything the app shows is derived from Steam's public interfaces: update posts, review counts, prices, release dates. That means two honest limitations.
The data can be stale or wrong. Prices and reviews are read on a schedule, not the second you look at them. If the app and the Steam store disagree, the Steam store is right.
The verdicts are observations, not predictions. "Quiet for a while" means a game has gone longer than usual without a labelled update. It does not mean the studio has quit, and "updated regularly" is no promise that it will continue. The app describes what has already happened and deliberately refuses to forecast.
Do not treat any of it as investment or purchasing advice. It is one signal among many, and it can be wrong.
Content that belongs to others
Game titles, cover art, screenshots and announcement text belong to their publishers and developers. They appear in the app to identify and describe the games, and all rights remain with their owners. Steam and the Steam logo are trademarks of Valve Corporation.
The app is provided as it is
StudioScore is free and offered without warranty of any kind. It may be unavailable, it may contain mistakes, and the service it depends on, Steam, may change or restrict access at any time, which would change or break parts of the app.
To the extent the law allows, the developer is not liable for any loss arising from using the app or relying on what it shows. Nothing here limits rights you have that cannot be waived under the consumer law where you live.
Ending it
You can stop at any time: delete your account in Profile → Account → Delete account, or simply remove the app. The service may also be discontinued, in which case reasonable notice will be given in the app where possible.
Changes
These terms may change as the app does. The date at the top marks the last revision, and material changes will be announced in the app before they take effect.
